Welcome

Troop 79 has been proudly chartered by Hopewell United Methodist Church of Tyrone, Georgia since 1974. We provide a strong year-round Scouting program utilizing the ideals and methods of the Boy Scouts of America. As we “Do Our Duty” to God, our Country, and to our Community, we cheerfully give back what we have received in scouting… one scout at a time. Become a member of the Troop 79 online family by creating an account. Members share in our event calendar, Photo Gallery and other Troop 79 exclusive items. Please enjoy your visit and come back often.

Camping with Pack 373

Feb. 25 2017

We had a blast camping out with the Webelos from Pack 373 in our backcountry. The cub scouts learnt knots from the scouts in Troop 79 and participated in the burning of palm fronds to be used for Ash Wednesday. It was a cold night but everyone had fun!
